Bagan is one of preeminent ancient religious cities in Southeast Asia, located in Mandalay region of Myanmar.

It used be called Pagan. Similar to Angkor in Cambodia, Bagan is notable for their expanse of sacred geography and overwhelming number and spectacular temples and monasteries. Bagan is also known as one of the three historical Buddhist remaining in the world. Many Buddhist remaining are more visible along Irrawaddy river. The old Bagan region has been the richest archaeological preserved site. There are many sizes and colors of monasteries and pagodas that were built in 11th-13th century in Bagan. Apparently there are more than 3000 pagodas and monasteries in Bagan.
