Film and Cinema

The first film in Yangon was publically screened in the year of 1910 about U Tun Shein’s funeral who was the leading advocate for Burmese Independence. Since then the Film and Cinema industry in Myanmar has continued to develop and grown with many young talented film makers.

Where to see Film?

The latest domestic movies and International movies such as Chinese, Indian, Korean, American and etc. are screened at the most of cinemas in town. Especially the Cinema Row (SUle Pagoda and Bogyoke Aung San Road) or the shopping centers shows the latest films and movies

Art Galleries

There are many arts and history to exhibit in Myanmar’s traditional Art Galleries such as the traditional paintings of Buddhist monks and Myanmar’s landscapes and so on. Followings are the some of the prestigious galleries to list.

Inya Art Gallery

his rare gallery, renovated an old garage turn in to an artelier like gallery, exclusively displays the work of one or two established contemporary artists at a time.

This smaller sized gallery with artist in residence program displays mixture of prestigious and newly established artist’s work.
